Fresh air
Breathe is a progressive and innovative foundation dedicated to artists. All artists. We offer opportunities, embracing each artist’s diversity and cultivating each artist’s creativity.
How to Breathe
We enable and educate. Enable every artist—the struggling and the accomplished, the part-time and the professional. And educate all—the beginner and the experienced, the young and the young at heart. Breathe passes the torch from the established to the unknown, and helps make an artist's creative vision a reality.
How? Through grants, scholarships, educational programs, support groups and seminars. Through networking and mentoring. Through Artists Series and Master classes. Through lectures and workshops.
Through you.
Come. Breathe differently.
Inhale, and experience growth. Benefit from our network of contacts. Be mentored by someone who has been there. Explore possibilities with others who can help put ideas in motion.
Exhale, and enjoy the satisfaction of knowing you have opened a door for those in search of an opportunity. Give back what you can, and choose your means of doing so.
Have an idea? Bring it to life. Have knowledge and contacts? Share them and be a cornerstone for the future. Volunteer for a program or sponsor one.
Whatever role you choose, we are for you.
And you are for us.

Breathe – A Foundation for the Artist
Breathe – A Foundation for the Artist plans to serve individual artists and arts educators, promote their freedom to develop and create and provide the broader public with opportunities to experience and understand their work. Breathe will accomplish this by offering financial and informational assistance to educators, artists and organizations that directly serve artists, by offering educational seminars and workshops where ideas and opinions relating to all disciplines of the arts may be expressed and shared by others, by directly facilitating arts programming and supporting other arts programming in the larger community, and by building collaborative relationships with others who advocate and support all disciplines of the arts in Illinois State and throughout the country.
